Last year I had submitted a review of this projector and I gave 5-star remarks about how wonderful this projector is. Well, this final review I'm giving is just as glowing as when it was brand new. All the features, like Auto-Keystone as well as manual Keystone, color balancing on any surface projected, Auto-Focus, long life laser-diode light source, and all the other features on this little marvel are just some of the many features that make this projector a bargain for any situation. The latest software update (Version 3.10.219) was supposed to fix numerous bugs, but I couldn't find any bugs in the unit to begin with.
So, in closing, I would highly recommend purchasing the dynamo for any application you use it with.

The XGIMI HORIZON Ultra is really a nice piece.
The promotional material and photos, to me makes this projector look poor. Trust me this is a quality projector!
The packaging is immaculate. It arrived in three separate shipping boxes. Inside the third box was double air padding surrounding the product box itself.
The attention to detail and quality is very Apple-Esque.
The finish on the projector is leather-faux.
The front panel is motorized, and is quiet.
The fan on the unit is also quiet.
The power brick, is no slouch, and matches the finish of the projector along with the cabling. I would had liked to have seen either a mag-safe style connector or a locking connector for the power cable. The cable length appears to be well within iEEE specifications.
The instructions are minimal, at best. However spending some time with the unit will help you understand the menus, menu structure, and different settings.
I saw the onboard AndroidTV / GoogleTV is missing Netflix, however XGIMI did include a workaround for that, if you use the onboard OS.
This means nothing to me, as I strictly use a AppleTV 4K device. There is no issues with communication between the XGIMI HORIZON Ultra and the AppleTV 4K.
I can only presume the Harmon Kardon sound system is good, again not using, since the audio for me is going through the AppleTV and connected to Stereo Paired HomePods (original).
I received notice from XGIMI that a specialized mount for this projector will be available soon on their website.
The unit’s HDMI version is both 1.4 and 2.0. The HDMI 2 port is eARC. There is also optical out, along with BT and 3.5mm headphone jack. Another welcoming port is the onboard Ethernet jack.
The XGIMI also has a Wi-Fi radio. It connected to my isolated 2.4 GHz IoT network, without complications.
The icing on the projector is that it is the
FIRST EVER ꓷD Dolby Vision certified projector!
Pairing the XGIMI HORIZON Ultra with the 120” 16:9 AKIA Fixed Frame 1.3 Gain CINEWHITE UHD-B screen is welcoming.
I’m certain an ALR screen would be nice, but with this projector, it’s not really necessary.
It would have been nice to have this offer in the Christmas time, I was watching the price daily, too bad I bought another projector :-(
The Horizon Ultra is amazing! Easiest set up, and the finest picture for gaming and movies ever! Everything I wanted and then some!
I have a huge Living room wall and I was afraid that the picture would not be big enough nor the sound loud enough but I was dead wrong. Not sure if I was going to keep it , I placed it on the arm of the center of the couch, turned it on pointed it at a blank wall and what happened next was Epic. The picture came on, and the sound with it , the wall completely filled up to its maximum size about 12 ft wide and the Sound was booming from this little box. I would say within about 15 seconds I knew i was keeping it. I immediately boxed it back up drove to my friends house to show it off, set it up while he was making some burgers without him knowing it an the look on his face when he walked back in to the room he was astonished, amazed, surprised and when he kept looking for the speakers and the subwoofer , an had no idea they were in the tiny box, that sound was dolby and it rocked his living room . I managed to take a picture where he had only about 8 ft from the wall , and yet the picture was brilliant. After watching Apple TV for an hour , I packed up my magic box ,an as I was leaving he said I cant get one of these fast enough. I hope they make a case for this so it can be even more mobile as its just to much fun to leave home without it. My only advice is to skip the google phone setup for the internet , its so much easier to just choose your wifi and put in the password. I may purchase another one just to have in the car for show and tell.
